Do you Travel?
I do travel for an additional travel fee of $0.655/mile over 30 miles from Salem, MO. So that's 60 free miles of travel (roundtrip) before the extra fee!
How long have you been doing this?
I have dabbled in photography for as long as I can remember- from iPod pictures, to my first point and shoot camera gifted to me by my parents, and now with my mirrorless Canon I use today. I began Makayla Laine Photography in 2020 and officially became an LLC in April of 2022.
How many photos do we get?
I average 60 edited images per shooting hour. This includes 30 color images and 30 black and white images. You are guaranteed 60 images, but sometimes we create pure magic at a session and I don't have enough willpower to stop myself from delivering more!
How do we get our photos?
You'll receive your full personal gallery back in the form of a Pixieset link! You will have the ability to download and save all images directly to your devices.
Do you retouch photos?
Yes! This varies depending on request, but all images go through my usual workflow of editing. If there's something specific you want edited out, or you forgot to take off your Apple Watch- I've got you! Each image gets the individual attention it deserves!
Whats your turn around time?
You are guaranteed to receive your full personal gallery within 30 days of the session, however I try to return the gallery within two weeks of the session if possible! Oh, and we can't forget those Facebook sneak peeks!

Can you help us with planning?
Of course! We can discuss styling, locations, time of year, and session time. When you book with MLP, you're part of our photography family! I want YOU to have the best experience AND I have the need to capture magic through my camera lens. Many variables impact a session outcome, so I am more than happy to discuss these with you and plan accordingly. However, I am a teacher as well so I kindly ask for patience until I can finish my school day.
How far out do you book?
The time of year will impact my availability, but it's always best practice to get on the books as soon as possible!
How do weddings differ?
Weddings differ in price, gallery size, and turnaround time. I charge $250.00 per hour for weddings, with an additional travel fee if applicable. I still average 60 images per hour, but the size of the gallery is typically larger due to the length of the event. The price and gallery size of a wedding is customizable depending on the length and location of the event! My turnaround time for weddings is 6- 8 weeks after payment is complete.
What should we wear?
I want your photos to represent YOU. Confidence is key and ultimately you need to wear what you are most confident in. However, if you're scrolling Pinterest for picture inspo...you may need to search Pinterest worthy clothing on Amazon too. AND I can help! I can help create vision boards, discuss color combinations, texture variety, etc. All you have to do is ask and you shall receive!
What are your prices?
I charge $150.00 a shooting hour for up to four (4) individuals. There is an additional fee of $15.00 per person for additional individuals over the first four (4). Each session is customizable and dependent on length and size of the session.
For example, a session including seven (7) individuals would cost $195.00.

3 additional individuals x $15.00=$45.00,
$150.00 + $45.00= $195.00]
What time will our photos take place?
This will vary depending on the time of year. We all know and love that golden hour.....and its timing changes throughout the year. Fall/winter sessions will take place earlier in the evening while spring/summer sessions can run rather late. We are chasing that sunset all year round here at Makayla Laine Photography!
